First Preview of Zato at Apps World San Francisco 2014
Last month, we attended Apps World San Francisco. In case you haven’t heard of it, it’s like a free app convention with kind of a mini game convention going on within it (we viewed it as a GDC warmup). It was the first time any of us had attended a game/app conference as developers, and the first time we showed our game to anyone. It was a lot of fun, we met some great people and got some great feedback on our game.
While there, we chatted with Paul Acevedo about our game (he’s a contributor at Android Central and iMore). He wrote a little bit about Zato here and here, and also recorded an interview with us. He’s a nice guy and he really seems to ‘get’ it, even with our current alpha, maybe even prototype-level visuals. You can get an idea how the game works in the video, and while it doesn’t look too pretty yet, most of the core game mechanics are in place. It’s actually pretty fun.
Over the next few months, we will be slathering on as many layers of eye candy as possible.
